Lies Make Baby Jesus Cry (But He's Not Here)

I have been bestowed with an award by the delightful-and-soon-to-be-wed Cora of Love Letters By Cora! And just in time for my blog, which teeters on life support. This award includes a meme in which I am asked to become a filthy liar. This is not a stretch, as anyone who reads my blog can attest. Behold the Creative Writer Blogger Award!

This is not just a ceremonial position. I must do the following:

•Express gratitude to the blogger who bestowed the award unto you.
(see above)

•Display the picture on your blog proudly.
(see to the right)

•Be nice and provide a link to the person who gave it to you.
Love Letters By Cora

•Tell up to 6 outrageous lies about yourself, and at least 1 outrageous truth, or switch it around and tell 6 outrageous truths and 1 outrageous lie.
I'm going to go with the 6 truths and 1 lie:

1. A flag has been flown over the U.S. Capitol Building in my honor.
2. I have performed karaoke exactly once, and I won that evening's contest.
3. I have been proposed to. (Yes, by a girl. Jerks.)
4. My only D in school was in Algebra I.
5. I have played catch with Kevin Costner on more than one occasion.
6. My mother once told me I got laid off from my job because I skipped church.
7. I've seen a doctor three times in the last 12 years.

•Nominate 7 creative writers who might be into doing this.
•Post links to the seven blogs you nominate and let the owners of those blogs know.

Honestly, I'm not big on sending other blogs memes. But since there are a few blogs I enjoy that have been slacking even more than I have, I will tag them in a show of tough love. I hereby tag:

Falwless at Lots Better Then Your Blog
Girl Interrupted at A World So Small
The Imaginary Reviewer at The Imaginary Review

Get cracking, you three! And the rest of you...guess my lie!

I am throwing out the guess of the proposal. That one seems likely to be false.

Hope you are happy now that baby Jesus is sobbing away in his wee holy receiving blanket. Nice.

I call b.s on the flag. Just'cause I wanna believe you played catch with the Costner. Had no idea he was sporty like that. Such a man of diversity.

Trinity said...

Tammy, of course he is sporty. Tin Cup, A Field of Dreams, Waterworld. Did you not see him ride that jetski like a pro. I actually think that one is entirely plausible as Words works in the movies.

The mother thing is true.

I'm sure you never did Karaoke.

The flag is a lie.

PS - Most album titley comment I've ever left!

Are you calling me a slacker? And after I wrote a lovely, lengthy, slightly gushy post in your honour?

Fine! You are now dead to me.

(That was a lie ... I'm just getting into the Pinocchio zone, in preparation etc)

I think the flag is the fib, although I hope I'm wrong and that it's actually the Costner one ... unless you tell me that you spent the time in a worthy manner, i.e. lobbing the ball viciously at his head, in which case I'm happy for it to be true.

1. You were an Eagle Scout so it's possible.
2. I think you'd rather peel off your own skin than sing karaoke.
3. This might actually have been me.
4. Can't see it but I think 2 is even less likely.
5. Plausible.
6. Possible.
7. Entirely possible.

I'm going with 2.

Trinity- oh my yes, and then there was Bull Durham. Now *there's* a baseball movie.

So Words, are you just gonna leave us hanging here?!?!

words...words...words... said...

I'm going to give a little more time for the rest of the slackers that "read" my blog to hazard a guess, and I'll post the answer on Monday morning :)

Rebecca said...

I can't decide between #2 and #3, but I'll go with #2 and ask you a question.

Words...words...words, will you marry me?

I'm late to the lie fest, I know, I know. *sad guilty face* Sorry, Scope was in town so *POOF* my bloggy priorities evaporated for a few days. I haven't read your answer post yet because I wanted to take a guess first. Here goes:

1. Possible.
2. Maybe. How much alcohol was involved?
3. Awwww, I've met you and you're utterly adorable, so, yes, highly likely.
4. Algebra? Algebra?? Doubtful.... unless you were sitting by someone utterly distracting.
5. Well, if it is true, why have you neglected to mention it before now???? Suspicious.
6. 100% SOLID FACT!!!!
7. That sounds about right.

Okay, so I'm guessing Costner is the lie. But my second guess is Algbra. Aaaaaaaand now I'm gonna go read your answers to see if I'm right! *fingers crossed*

Btw, your blog is on a British kick this morning! My wv: gents. Cheerio!
